Personalized Email and RSS

You can now set up alerts to receive personalized emails and a personalized RSS feed on the topics you care about. For example, you can choose to receive Media Matters items related to national security and have those items mailed to you immediately, daily, or weekly. You can create multiple alerts and choose the frequency for each alert.

To create or manage your personalized email and RSS feeds, please login with an existing account or sign up for a new one. We can mail your password to you if you've forgotten it.

Example personalized alerts

RSS is a format of information that allows an RSS reader to check RSS-enabled webpages on your behalf and display any updated articles that it finds. Many email programs, such as Thunderbird, now include RSS reading functionality. "Your RSS" includes results from each of the alerts you've selected below.

Media Matters uses a taxonomy structure to help readers find information on various subjects. You can view all items by issue (the broadest category), view an issue's subissue, and even drill down to a particular topic.

Please note: An item may fall under the umbrella of a particular issue but may not be further categorized under a subissue or topic; the subissues and topics are not comprehensive of all content within a given issue. Similarly, topics are not comprehensive of all content within a given subissue.

You can choose to receive all items related to a specific media personality, such as Bill O'Reilly or Ann Coulter.

You can choose to receive items associated with a specific show or publication. For example, you could receive all future items about The O'Reilly Factor or The Chris Matthews Show.

You can choose to receive items associated with a specific network or media outlet. For example, you could receive all future items about Fox News or The New York Times.

If you were unable to find what you were looking for in the options above, you can specify a keyword and receive alerts based on that. For example, you could receive alerts based on the keyword "cancer."

You can choose to receive alerts immediately, in daily or weekly digests, or via RSS only.
